Cook, Eat, Burn is a new cookery series in which Donal Skehan shows viewers how to cook healthy, delicious recipes designed to help us get active, fuel fitness activities, and even embark on adventure sports. In each programme Donal shares his own new recipes, specially selected to enhance the day of physical exertion ahead. From kayaking to rock climbing, boot camp to mountaineering, and cycling to coasteering; Donal shows us how to cook to complement an energetic lifestyle.
During each activity, Donal is accompanied by Dr Brendan Egan an expert in Sport and Exercise Science from UCD. Brendan monitors the impact of each activity on Donal’s body, and keeps count of the calories being burned. Throughout the series, Donal travels to some of Ireland’s most stunning locations including the Greenway in Mayo, Carrauntoohil in Kerry and the Causeway Coast in North Antrim.
Cook, Eat, Burn shows viewers the secret to cooking simple, healthy and tasty food perfect for pursuing a more active lifestyle.
In tonight’s programme Donal tackles Carrauntoohil, the highest mountain in Ireland. To help him reach the top, he cooks recipes specially designed to sustain energy on a challenging day of mountaineering. The featured recipes are Gluten Free Pancakes, Super Power Chilli with Charred Corn Salsa, and Roast Squash Salad. He also prepares a healthy snack of Oat Flapjacks to stop and eat while admiring the stunning Kerry scenery.
In tonight's programme Donal goes rock climbing on the beautiful but challenging North Antrim Coast. He prepares his own new recipes, specially selected to help the body recover after day of activity and exertion.. Tonight's recipes include Seabass Ceviche,, Beetroot Burgers, Pomegranate Molasses Chicken, and Coconut macaroons.
In tonight's programme Donal cooks recipes specially picked to help him fuel up and prepare for a tough boot camp work out. Donal's recipes include Squash Tagine with Quinoa, a Selection of Smoothies, Sweet Potato Shepherdless Pie and Spiced Fish with Mango Salsa.
This week's episode is all about Eating On The Go as Donal heads to the Atlantic Coast to cycle the stunning Greenway in Mayo. He prepares food perfect for eating on a day of exercise and activity. Recipes include Pep N Power Balls, a Mini Falafal Box, Tahini Crunch Noodle Salad, and Spring Vegetable Minestrone.
In tonight's programme, Donal combines tourism with getting active when he explores the Kerry coastline on a coasteering trip. He prepares food designed to enhance his day of healthy activity.
