Broadcast Engineer Technician

You Will:
  • Repair, maintain, install and modify all of the electronic equipment in the station
  • Operate and maintain transmission coordinates as required by broadcast schedule and ensure clear signal at all times
  • Assist with installations and upgrades to automated and broadcast systems
  • Plan and organize broadcast equipment maintenance and signal changes around broadcast schedule
  • Install and perform preventive maintenance on the station’s control consoles, boards, recording equipment, microphones, and a wide variety of other station equipment and electronic systems
  • Maintain all types of television broadcast/production equipment (may weigh up to 50lbs)
  • Work on projects as assigned


What You Need:
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology, with a minimum 2 years television production experience
  • Working knowledge of broadcast automation and video servers.
  • Technical experience with video equipment such as: audio consoles and production switchers, wireless mics, mixing and dubbing.
  • Experience with computer systems, networking, and applications in a Broadcast environment
  • Knowledge of Avid Non-linear, Linear editing systems and Mpeg-2 compression formats
  • Knowledge of various small mechanical and general maintenance tools and health and safety practices
  • Solution oriented mindset with problem solving ability
  • Strong initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work both independently and on a team
  • Ability to work under the pressure, tight deadlines, multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • A high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, versatility and flexibility with multiple demands
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset

Hours of work: 37.5 hrs per week, flexible work schedule, weekends included
