Horseradish bloody mary

If desired, create a Bloody Mary bar, with vodka, gin and tequila and then set up an array of garnishes, such as bacon, lobster, shrimp, pepperettes, pickled green beans, asparagus spears, cocktail onions, gherkins, olives, cherry tomatoes, fresh chiles and/or pickled jalapenos.


INGREDIENTS

Lemon or lime wedge for rimming glasses
Celery salt or sea salt, for rimming glasses
Ice, as needed
1 to 2 ounces vodka
1 1/4 cup tomato juice
1 tsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice or lime juice
Worcestershire sauce, to taste
Hot sauce, to taste
1/2 tsp. crushed celery seed
1 tsp. freshly grated horseradish or prepared horseradish
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
Shaved celery and/celery rib, for garnishing


PREPARATION

Rub rim of glass with wedge of lemon or lime. Dip glass in celery salt or sea salt.

Add ice, vodka, tomato juice, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, crushed celery seed, horseradish, and salt and pepper to glass. Stir to combine. Taste for seasoning and adjust to taste.

Garnish with shaved celery and/or celery rib.

Yield: 1 serving.
