Lime wedge, for rimming glass (optional)
Coarse ground salt or sugar, for rimming glass (optional)
2 kiwis, peeled
1/3 cup tequila
2 tbsp. orange liqueur
Juice of 2 limes, (about 1/4 cup)
1 tsp. sugar (optional)
Ice, as needed
Kiwi slices, for garnishing (optional)


Rub rim of 2 martini glasses with lime wedge. Dip rim of each glass in salt or sugar. Set aside. Add kiwis, tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice and sugar to a blender. Puree until smooth. For a slushy margarita, add ice to blender and pulse until smooth. For a margarita on the rocks, transfer kiwi mixture and ice to a cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain. Pour into prepared glasses. Garnish each glass with a slice of kiwi, if desired.
