Digital Media Marketing Coordinator

Toronto, ON

Reporting to the Executive Director, Salsa in Toronto Festival, and working alongside senior members of the Special Events Team, the successful candidate will support and join a dedicated team of special event professionals to help produce and execute various digital media initiatives, social media strategy, and online promotions related to the Salsa in Toronto Festival. The individual will gain direct hands-on experience in a positive and encouraging workplace and will acquire valuable career-related experience in Digital Media and Marketing. This is an 8 week term position ending no later than August 30th, 2024.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate to develop, manage, and implement digital marketing campaigns and initiatives such as SEM, social media and other types of digital media by coordinating external and internal resources
  • Assist in implementing innovative media campaigns, help to determine appropriate architecture, and other technical solutions, and make relevant recommendations per project
  • Assist with updating and managing online content including blogs, social media and various channel websites
  • Monitor online trends to make the most of emerging technologies or applications and identify the opportunities to integrate them into operations and activities
  • Tracking data-driven online performance, analysis, reporting of your activities and deriving improvement measures
  • Review, evaluate and report on social media analytics and performance to continuously improve results
  • Research and write content for company’s social and digital media platform
  • Provide admin support in the development, organization, tracking and execution of local marketing initiatives
  • Coordinate and work closely with Marketing on campaigns, events and initiatives
  • Assist in the organization of special events

 

Required Skills

  • Solid understanding of web metrics, digital analytics, with the ability to generate, analyze and interpret data
  • Experience in social media and online networking
  • Knowledge in: Photoshop, Fireworks, or equivalent application(s), Flash and Dreamweaver, are an asset
  • Knowledge of online marketing techniques like search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Strong web development skills in CSS, C#, HTML, XML, and JavaScript
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office programs
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English is required, Spanish language is a strong asset
  • Strong interpersonal skill with a customer service mindset with ability to manage last minute details, be versatile and flexible with multiple demands
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail
  • Strong initiative and self-motivated with ability to work both independently and on a team
  • An enthusiastic, friendly attitude contributing to a friendly respectful workplace

 

Qualifications

  • Digital Media, Marketing or related program Degree (or in progress) and or a minimum 1-year related experience
  • Be between the ages of 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act 2. Please note: Student or work visa status do not qualify.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment. Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
