TLN TV Celebrates the 15th Annual TD Salsa on St. Clair Street Festival

TLN Television has been a proud partner of the TD Salsa on St. Clair Festival since its inception in 2005. This  year was a HUGE success and bigger than ever to celebrate the 15th edition! The festival honours diversity and inclusion in Toronto – a famously multicultural city.

Attendees from across the city and beyond turned out on St. Clair Avenue West to celebrate the best of the Latino culture through food, art, music and a nonstop dancing!

Francesco Sorbara, MP for Vaughan-Woodbridge on the Importance of Ethnic Media

Francesco Sorbara, MP for Vaughan-Woodbridge stopped by the TLN Media Group studio to discuss his Italian-Canadian roots and his work in strengthening the economic and cultural relationship between Canada and Italy, including the recently revised Youth Mobility Agreement, allowing young Canadians to work abroad. When asked about the importance of ethnic media in Canada, MP Sorbara expressed the need for local ethnic programming and the significance that content holds for communities.

The International Metropolis Conference is the largest annual international gathering of world experts concerning migration, integration and diversity. TLN Media Group is proud to partner with the International Metropolis Project in presenting this year’s conference in Ottawa, held from June 24-28th. Welcoming 1200 delegates from 52 countries, this week-long program addressed both Canadian and international strategies for immigration and integration. (Toronto, ON – July 4, 2019) – TLN Media Group, Canada’s most influential multilingual media company and home of flagship channel TLN Television, #1 Spanish-language channel Univision Canada and leading Italian-language channel Mediaset Italia, announces a series of exclusive TV events featuring the network’s Made In Canada original heritage specials across its family of TV channels throughout July and August.

As a leader in supporting and developing Canadian multiculturalism, TLN Media Group produces and commissions hundreds of culturally significant programs each year with a catalogue of over 250 episodes of Original titles in English, Spanish and Italian.

TLN TV will feature all-day special weekend lineups on Sunday July 7th and 14th from 9A-5P featuring TLN Media Group original heritage productions highlighting incredible stories of Italian and Hispanic family tradition, sacrifice, ambition, heartbreak and achievement.

The Italian Heritage Specials (with English subtitles) will air on TLN TV on Sunday, July 7 starting at 9am, followed by an encore broadcast in Italian language on Mediaset Italia, Thursdays at 9:30pm starting July 11th . TLN Original Italian titles include Stories from the Garden, Italiese: A New Language for the New World, Landing at Ellis Island and Dominique Corti: A Life’s Journey.  

The Hispanic Heritage Specials (with English subtitles) will air on TLN TV on Sunday, July 14th starting at 9am, followed by an encore broadcast in Spanish language on Univision Canada, Sundays at 6pm starting July 14th. TLN Original Spanish titles include Like A Fish out of Water, The Persecuted, Maya Regina: An Unusual Connection and Salseros: Living the Lifestyle.

TLN Media Group is proud to partner annually with TD Bank Group (TD) for the Welcome to Canada Literacy Program which was part of Salsa at Blue Mountain featuring a special scavenger hunt and story time for young children all weekend long.

The TD Welcome to Canada program distributes books at multicultural events, selected schools, community centers, and libraries across the country making them available to young newcomers, particularly those of Hispanic descent. The books help foster an understanding of Canada, including language, geography, history and multiculturalism. The program reflects TLN Media Group’s commitment to sharing and showcasing the vibrant Latino culture and connecting Spanish-speaking Canadians with the passions that make their culture unique on TV and in the community.
