In Matchday 37 of the 2021-22 Serie A, Bologna host Sassuolo at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, Napoli host Genoa at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, and Milan host Atalanta at the San Siro on 15 May 2022!
Bologna vs Sassuolo (6:25 AM EST)
Following a win in the reverse fixture (3-0), Bologna could win both Serie A games against Sassuolo in a single season for the second time after 2017-18.
The Neroverdi have won each of their last two Italian top flight away games against the Rossoblu, having only won one at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara in their previous five visits in the competition (D2 L2).
Players to Watch
Bologna’s Riccardo Orsolini has scored five goals in Serie A this season, each of those away from home – the last time he found the net at Dall’Ara in the competition was on the last Serie AItalian matchday of 2020-21 – 23 May against Juventus.
Domenico Berardi has had a hand in 27 goals (14 goals, 13 assists) in the league this season, only Francesco Caputo in 2019-20 (28) has been directly involved in more goals in a single Serie A season for Sassuolo.
Napoli vs Genoa (8:55 AM EST)
Napoli have won 16 of their 24 Serie A meetings against Genoa since January 2010 onwards (D6 L2), only against Sampdoria (19) have they won more during that time.
The Partenopei are unbeaten in their last 12 Serie A home meetings against the Rossoblu (W8 D4), keeping a clean sheet in four of the last five.
Players to Watch
Napoli’s Dries Mertens has been involved in nine goals in his last eight Serie A appearances against Genoa (five goals and four assists), while the Rossoblu could become the seventh side against which the Partenopei striker has been involved in 10+ goals, with only Ciro Immobile (11) having more in the competition since 2010 onwards.
Genoa’s Mattia Destro has scored four Italian top flight goals against Napoli, however, they are the side against which he has played the most Serie A minutes for the Rossoblu without scoring a single goal (215 minutes).
Milan vs Atalanta (11:55 AM EST)
Milan have won their last two Serie A meetings against Atalanta, after winning only once in their previous 11 (D6 L4); the last time that Rossoneri won three consecutive games against La Dea in the top-flight under the same manager was between 1993 and 1996 under Fabio Capello.
Atalanta are unbeaten in their last seven away Italian top flight games against Milan (W3 D4), keeping a clean sheet five times. The Rossoneri’s last home win against La Dea was back in January 2014; a 3-0 victory under Massimiliano Allegri.
Players to Watch
Milan’s Olivier Giroud (nine goals) could become the oldest player with at least 10 goals in his first Serie A season (35 years, 227 days on the day of the game), overtaking Cristiano Ronaldo (33 years, 299 days).
Atalanta’s Mario Pasalic has found the net in each of his last four appearances in the top-flight – no other Atalanta player, excluding strikers, has ever done better in the three points for a win era in Serie A (since 1994-95).
