Match Insights

Spezia have lost their last two away games against Atalanta in the top-flight, including the reverse fixture, but they drew 0-0 in their only home match in Serie A against them.

Since February 2022, only Venezia have lost more games than the Ligurians in the top flight – eight in 12 matches (W2 D2), including three defeats in the last three matches.

Atalanta have picked up only 18 points in the second half of this season – they gained 38 points in the first half of the season. In addition, only Milan and Napoli have picked up more points than La Dea (36) in away matches in Serie A this season.

Players to Watch

Daniele Verde is Spezia’s top scorer (six) and top assister (five) in Serie A this season. The Italian attacker is also the Ligurian who has been involved in the most goals in the second half of this season (seven: three goals and four assists).

Mario Pasalic has scored two braces against the Spezia in the last two matches played in Serie A. The Croatian has also been involved in 18 goals in the current league season (12 goals, six assists); only one Croatian player has had a hand in more goals in a single Serie A campaign since the tournament returned to 20 teams in 2004/05 – Ivan Perisic (19 in 2016/17 and 20 in 2017/18).

Venezia vs Bologna (8:55 AM EST)

Venezia sit in 20th place in Serie A with 22 points (5W-7D-21L) and Bologna sit in 13th place in the top flight of Italian football with 43 points (11W-10D-14L).

Match Insights

Only once in their Serie A history have Venezia managed to win against Bologna twice in the same season in the top-flight (1942-43). In addition, the Arancioneroverdi have lost each of their last five home games against the Rossoblu in Serie A and have not found the back of the net in four of these matches.

Venezia have lost each of their last four league games at Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo and have never suffered more consecutive home defeats in a single season in their history in Serie A. They have picked up just three points in their last 12 home games (D3 L9).

Bologna are unbeaten in their last six league games (W2 D4); he last time they enjoyed a longer streak in Serie A was in May 2012. In addition, the last Rossoblu defeat in Serie A against an opponent that started the matchday bottom of the table was in April 2016 (0-1 defeat against Hellas Verona).

Players to Watch

Venezia striker David Okereke – who scored against Bologna in the reverse fixture earlier this season – has only scored one goal in Serie A since February (in 11 appearances, 0.09 on average per match), after scoring five goals from the end of August to January (18 appearances, 0.28 on average per match).

Marko Arnautovic has scored 14 goals this season for Bologna across all competitions (13 in Serie A, one in Coppa Italia): with one more goal he will set a new personal record for goals scored in a single season as a professional player.

Hellas Verona vs Milan (2:30 PM EST)

Hellas Verona sit in ninth place in Serie A with 52 points (14W-10D-11L) and Milan sit in first place in the top flight of Italian football with 77 points (23W-8D-4L).

Match Insights

In the three points for a win era, only in the 2001/02 campaign have Milan won both Serie A matches in a single season against Hellas Verona (both 2-1).

Milan have won their last two away games against Verona in Serie A and in their history have never achieved three wins in a row on the road against the Gialloblu in the top-flight.

Verona could win two Serie A games in a row for the first time since January; they have never repeated the same result twice in a row in their last 13 league games.

Players to Watch

Gianluca Caprari (seven assists) is close to the record for the most assists (9) set by a Hellas Verona player in a single Serie A season (which happened in 2004/05). Adding the 12 goals scored, he could become the second Italian in the last 17 years to be involved in at least 20 goals in a single Serie A campaign for the club; the other was Luca Toni.

Rafael Leão is the player with the fourth-most dribbles completed (93) in the top five European leagues this season, after Allan Saint-Maximin, Adama Traoré and Kylian Mbappé. However, his last goal in an away league match came in October 2021 against Bologna; the Portuguese player’s last last six goals have been netted in home games.
