Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could become only the 2nd Napoli player to score in his first three Serie A games in the three-point-a-win era (since 1994/95), after José Callejón in 2013/14. In addition, the Georgian born in 2001 (three goals and one assist so far in Serie A) could become just the 2nd player under-22 to be involved in at least five goals in his first three appearances in the Big-5 European Leagues in the last 15 seasons (from 2008/09), after Erling Haaland (seven).

In Serie A so far this season, Atalanta won against Sampdoria and drew against Milan: across the previous 10 Serie A seasons, only in 2020/21 were they unbeaten in their first three matches of the campaign. Atalanta won their first away match this season and only four times in their Serie A history have they achieved two wins in their first two away games: in 2000/01 and in all three of their most recent seasons.
